Effectiveness of Organizational Behaviors

Organizational behaviors are some of the most important aspects impacting the effectiveness of private companies and public institutions. The COVID-19 pandemic has posed a number of research and practical challenges for this sub-discipline of management science, in the areas such as work organization, developing human and intellectual potential, the role of leaders in organizations, fluctuating behavior of culture consumers, actors of the information technology sector as well as gender issues in management. The goal of the seminar is to classify and analyze these problems with respect to the effectiveness of organizational behaviors in the new (post)pandemic world.

I intend to build an interdisciplinary international research community of experts specializing in management science, economics, sociology, and social psychology, working together towards the development of a new model of effective organizational behavior for private companies and public institutions for the times of pandemic.

Katarzyna Januszkiewcz

 

 

Katarzyna Januszkiewicz, Ph.D. – is an Associate Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at SWPS University, Head of the Department of Management, her research interests focus on organizational behavior, including behavior change (e.g. flexibility, professional paradigm shift, diversity at the workplace) and research methodology related to social aspects of management (professionalization of research methods and techniques).

Magdalena Łużniak-Piecha

 

 

Magdalena Łużniak-Piecha, Ph.D. – is Vice-Dean for Student Affairs at the Faculty of Social Sciences in Warsaw, SWPS University. Her research interests include factors improving effectiveness of organizational cultures, the impact of managers’ personality on organizational culture, eliminating organizational pathologies, managing differences and change in organizations.

Justyna Sarnowska

 

 

Justyna Sarnowska, Ph.D.– is Vice-Dean for Educational Affairs at the Faculty of Social Sciences, SWPS University, Head of the Department of Social Studies, Coordinator of the Youth Research Center. She researches the transition from education to labor market, youth mobility, transfer of competencies, and socializing role of international migrations in the process of entering the labor market.

Wojciech Karczewski, Ph.D. – holds a doctoral degree in social sciences in the discipline of management and quality studies. His research interests focus on management topic. He is also a business consultant with a significant experience in leading R&D projects. He is interested both in theory and practice of organizational behavior and conducts quantitative studies on leadership behavior, organizational culture, highly routinized work, managing project teams, and employee motivation. Currently, he is working on developing an interdisciplinary model of effective organizational behaviors for private companies and public institutions in pandemic circumstances, which includes organization of individual and team work, human capital development, intellectual potential, employee motivation, the role of post-crisis leadership, and gender issues in management. He applies results of his research in management practice, mainly in R&D projects related to organizational behavior and digitalization and innovative technologies, conducted for international corporations form the financial, telecommunication, insurance and medical sectors, in Switzerland, Great Britain, Sweden, India, Greece, and Poland. 

Dr. Karczewski published numerous articles on various aspects of management science in professional journals. He holds several professional certificates, including Project Management Professional, Prince 2, Agile, Managing Successful Programmes (MSP), TOGAF 9 (enterprise architecture), and International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB). At SWPS University he teaches classes in organizational behavior, leadership competencies, organizational management, project management and management reporting. He is also Coordinator of the undergraduate Management and Leadership program (Polish and English path).
