Professor Roman Cieślak leads a team of researchers at StressLab, which specializes in traumatic stress and professional burnout. The team creates, implements and evaluates various methods of trauma and stress therapy, including online psychological interventions.

Since 2007, Professor Cieślak has been collaborating with the Trauma, Health & Hazards Center (THHC) at the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs, where he completed his post doctoral fellowship and worked as Director for Research. Currently, he is Associate Professor Adjunct at THHC and holds the post of Senior Statistical and Content Expert Consultant. Stress Lab cooperates with THHC on common research project and publications.

He is the Principal Investigator of the research project E-COMAPRED. E-COMPARED (European Comparative Effectiveness Research on Internet-based Depression Treatment) aims to develop evidence based recommendations on how depression treatments delivered via the Internet can be cost-effectively integrated into the routine specialized care systems for depression sufferers in the EU.

A team of researchers from StresLab, under the leadership of Professor Cieślak, is developing an innovative system for the Design, Evaluation and Sharing of Mobile Psychological Interventions on Mobile Devices (DESMoPsI). The DESMoPsI project has been awarded a TANGO grant by the National Science Centre and The National Centre for Research and Development. The TANGO funding scheme enables scientists to turn their projects in basic research into solutions and products that may benefit populations and economies in a direct way.
