The SWPS University library in Sopot holds over 13,500 volumes on psychology, sociology, cultural studies, and other disciplines. The library also offers several hundreds of Polish and foreign periodicals and academic journals, in paper and electronic format. It also provides psychological tests, statistical software and language learning CD’s. Additionally, the library has an extensive collection of feature films, documentaries, board games, and dexterity games.
Video Library
The University’s video library holds recordings of many lectures, meetings and debates organized by the University. Additionally, it collects documentaries and educational films. It also offers access to a list of links to documentaries relevant to the fields of study represented by the University. The documentaries are available on various open-access platforms on the Internet.
The library has been partially financed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education under the 663/P-DUN/2012 project, supporting investments for educational development.
Repository
The Repository holds electronic archives of SWPS University, including doctoral dissertations, academic articles, conference materials, teaching materials and academic posters created in the course didactic work and scientific research by the researchers of SWPS University.
Access for Individuals with Special Needs
The SWPS University library in Sopot is equipped with Poet Compact 2 Plus - a stand alone reading machine for visually impaired, which can read printed texts with a push of a button. The library also provides access to the Academic Digital Library, which holds handbooks and study materials in various digital formats, including: DOC, HTML, PDF, and DAISY.
Electronic Databases
Students and academics of SWPS University have access to Polish and foreign electronic databases of articles, periodicals and other materials, including:
EBSCO, PsycINFO, PsycARTICLES, SocINDEX with Full Text, and Elsevier. They may also use the largest Polish electronic lending library ibuk.pl.
